We are currently formalising our health & safety, quality and environmental procedures in order to meet ISO9001, ISO14001 and BS OHSAS 18001: 2007.

CCS & Community Engagement
Audas are committed to the principles of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and have worked endlessly throughout the year on various projects achieving commendable scores. Initiatives undertaken over the past 12 months included: visits to various primary schools to deliver pp presentations on H&S on building sites; clean up of the Rochdale canal; insect hotel; local radio interviews. Audas were rewarded for their efforts with a Bronze national site award. The scheme’s Code Of Practice includes:

WWF
Audas are pleased to be supporting the World Wildlife Fund Charity and their vital work to protect some of the world’s most vulnerable animals, places and people in addition to tackling climate change and addressing the unsustainable consumption of precious natural resources.
Prostate Cancer Charity
Audas have been involved in raising awareness of prostate cancer to their team and supply chain through their quarterly SHEQ newsletters and health campaigns at site level. In addition, ten members of the Audas team participated in the BUPA Manchester 10km Run in May 2011 raising over 4k for the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Local Community
Audas sponsors two local football teams; one is Bridgnorth Spartans FC (under 11’s). The other is Beeston St Anthony’s, whom 2 of our employees play for.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Audas are committed to eight environmental principles:
- Prevention of pollution
- Minimise use of energy, materials, utilities
- Minimise waste generation and apply responsible waste management and disposal techniques
- Reduction of carbon-based emissions
- Substitution of hazardous and non-recyclable materials
- Promoting product reuse and recycling
- Maintaining high workforce awareness of environmental issues
- Involving suppliers, subcontractors and customers in environmental initiatives
Our current waste recycling rate is 98% and the procurement of FSC timber by our supply chain is 100%
SUSTAINABILITY
Audas are working closely with M&S to help ensure their target for the 180 commitments is reached by 2015. Some of the commitments Audas are directly involved with include: monitoring and reducing carbon footprint; minimising water and energy resources; no waste to landfill; utilisation of FSC timber on all projects.
